Meghan gets people moving, active and feeling young again, even after years of aches and pains
Although originally from Pennsylvania, Meghan received her B.A. in Dance from the UNC - Charlotte. She went on to earn her M.S. in Rehabilitation with a Sports Medicine concentration from the University of Pittsburgh and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Emory University. Meghan has completed continuing education in various manual therapy techniques, kinesiotaping, hip/pelvic and foot/ankle dysfunction, and performing arts medicine.
She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) - Orthopedic Section and Performing Arts Special Interest Group as well as the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS). Meghan has presented on topics related to Pilates-based rehabilitation, dance medicine, and the adolescent female athlete at IADMS Conferences in Seattle and Pittsburgh. In addition, Meghan has assisted with backstage coverage of off-Broadway shows and the So You Think You Can Dance Tour. Prior to her undergraduate work, she taught and assisted dance classes and performed in Walt Disney World and on Royal Caribbean cruises. Most recently, Meghan worked as a travel physical therapist with assignments up and down the east coast, but she is excited about her return to the Charlotte area and beginning a new chapter with Volk Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine. Her goal is to create a partnership with clients, working together to achieve each person’s individual goals and empower clients to become active in their own recovery while promoting long-term wellness.
In her spare time, Meghan enjoys spending time with her family and friends, taking dance/Pilates/yoga/barre classes, hiking, cooking, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins.
